Words Like Leaves
In the garden of thoughts where words take flight
Pause and ponder before they ignite
For once spoken they dance on the breeze
Words hold power and can bring peace or unease
Consider the weight of each syllable's grace
The impact they leave, the marks they trace
In the hearts of others, in the world they roam
Words can build bridges or leave one alone
In moments of anger when tempers flare
Take a breath, show you care
For words, once freed, cannot return
They linger, they echo, they teach, they burn
Be fair in your actions to yourself and others
For words can wound, but they can also cover
With kindness, with love, with gentle embrace
They can heal, they can soothe, they can replace
Think before speaking, let wisdom guide
Let empathy and understanding reside
For in the silence, before words take flight
Lies the power to choose what is right
Words are like seeds; they grow and they spread
They can bring joy or fill one with dread
So, choose them wisely, let them reflect
The love and respect you wish to project
In the tapestry of life words weave the thread
They tell our stories, they shape what's ahead
Let them be fair, let them be kind
For once they're spoken they cannot rewind
In the garden of thoughts let compassion bloom
Let your words be the light that dispels the gloom
For in the end it's the love we impart
That truly defines the words of the heart
