The Deceptive Dance
In a world where masks are worn with grace
Lies a truth that hides behind each face
Not all that glitters is truly gold
Discernment is key, as stories unfold
Beware the charm that seems so bright
For shadows lurk in the dead of night
A smile can hide a thousand schemes
In the realm of dreams, not all is as it seems
The narcissist's art is a cunning play
With words like honey, they lead astray
Gaslighting whispers that twist the mind
Leaving clarity and peace hard to find
Hoovering pulls you back to their side
A cycle of chaos, a turbulent ride
Invalidation, a subtle sting
Belittling words that clip your wings
Projection shifts the blame away
Future faking paints skies of gray
Breadcrumbs scattered, a trail to follow
Yet the path is empty, cold, and hollow
Scapegoating shifts the weight of blame
Baiting draws you into their game
Stonewalling builds a silent wall
Triangulation makes you feel small
Love bombing showers you with affection
But intimacy is met with rejection
Ghosting leaves you in the dark
A vanishing act, a missing spark
In this dance of shadows, tread with care
For the cover may not match what's there
Look beyond the surface, see the soul
Discernment is the key to make you whole
Trust your instincts, let them guide
Through the maze where truths may hide
In a world where masks are worn with grace
Seek the heart, not just the face
For in the end, it's love that's true
That sees beyond the outer view
With open eyes and a mindful heart
You'll find the truth, and play your part
