Acquiescence

What happened to critical thinking?

What happened to thinking for oneself?

Humanity keeps on further sinking

To the point where it can’t even recognize its true self

Following along, complying to orders

It’s all a giant game of Simon Says with ever increasing high stakes

This current system, it’s full of disorders

By no one questioning anything, there’s a slew of mistakes

Day by day the collective grows sicker

Mentally, emotionally, and psychologically most notably

Distractions abound, acting as society’s liquor

Concealing how profoundly things are escalating uncontrollably

Ignorance is bliss they claim

I suppose that’s one point of view

When the flock is mindlessly led to slaughter, ignorance is to blame

It could all be avoided if only they knew

Your silence is acquiescence

Does that sit well with you?

It gives the A-Okay to subjugate you, in essence

You know, deep down, this much is true

Don’t be a mindless zombie—you have so much more to offer

Act before it’s much too late

Before things grow much too great to alter

With our hearts and minds lies the immense power to create
