In a world where warmth once thrived
Now lies a chill, where emotions are deprived
Hearts once vibrant, now encased in ice
Apathy reigns, and compassion pays the price
We bury feelings deep, in shadows they reside
Choosing to forgo, letting numbness be our guide
In the vastness of the crowd, we lose our voice
As cogs in the machine, we make the choice
To detach from the ties that bind us tight
In a world where empathy fades from sight
For when the flames of chaos rise anew
It's easier to feel nothing, to remain askew
The burden of emotions, a weight we shun
In the race of life, we choose to run
From the bonds that once held us near
In the cold embrace, we bury our fear
Yet in this void, what do we gain?
A life devoid of joy, a heart in chain
For in the absence of love's gentle touch
We lose the essence that matters so much
The world spins on, indifferent and vast
In its relentless march, emotions are cast
Aside, like leaves in the autumn breeze
As we stand alone, our hearts at ease
But is this ease worth the price we pay?
To live in a world where feelings decay
Where the warmth of connection is lost to time
In the pursuit of a life that's cold and sublime
So, let us ponder, in this world so wide
Is it truly better to let emotions slide?
Or should we dare to feel, to care, to see
The beauty in the bonds that set us free
For in the end, it's love that lights the way
In a world that's grown cold, cruel, and gray
Let us not forget the warmth we once knew
And embrace the emotions that make us true
