In a world so cold, dark, and cruel
Where hurt and trauma often rule
It seems pointless to bring light
To shine love, joy, and kindness bright
Yet, in the shadows, a small spark
Can illuminate the deepest dark
A single act, a gentle touch
Can mean so very much
A smile given, a hand held tight
Can turn the wrong into right
Though it may not change the world
In that moment, hope's unfurled
The ripple starts, a gentle wave
A heart uplifted, a soul to save
Kindness spreads, unseen, unheard
In every action, every word
Though the world may seem unchanged
For the recipient, life rearranged
A moment of light in a sea of night
A beacon of hope, a guiding light
So let your kindness freely flow
In ways you may never know
For every act, no matter how small
Can change the world, after all
In the cold and cruel, be the warm
In the storm, be the calm
In the dark, be the light
In the wrong, be the right
For though the world may not transform
In your heart, a new world is born
And in the heart of another, too
A world of kindness, because of you
So, let your light shine, let it be
A beacon of hope for all to see
For in the end, it's love that stays
In the smallest acts, in the simplest ways
