The Mask Unveiled
In shadows deep, a life concealed
A masquerade, a truth repealed
The mirror's gaze, a stranger's face
A life lived out in borrowed grace
The mask I wore, a crafted guise
To shield the world from weary eyes
Yet in the quiet, whispers grew
Of dreams and hopes I never knew
The laughter hollow, smiles feigned
In this charade, my soul remained
A prisoner of my own design
A life unlived, a heart confined
The echoes of a distant call
A yearning deep, to break the thrall
To cast aside the veil of lies
And see the world through open eyes
The mask, it slips, the truth revealed
A life of pretense, now unsealed
The courage found to face the dawn
To shed the skin I once had worn
The world anew, a canvas bare
To paint with colors bold and rare
No longer bound by fear's embrace
I step into the light with grace
The mask discarded, truth embraced
A life reborn, no time to waste
In every breath, a chance to be
The person I was meant to see
The journey long, the path unknown
Yet in this quest, I am not alone
For in the truth, I find my way
To live each moment, come what may
The mask, a relic of the past
A lesson learned, a shadow cast
In its absence, I find my voice
To live a life of my own choice
The mask unveiled, the lie laid bare
A life reclaimed, beyond compare
In every heartbeat, I am free
To be the person I was meant to be
