Let Go of Appeasement

In the dance of life, we often sway

To the tune of others, day by day

We wear masks of smiles, nod in agreement

Yet inside, we yearn for true fulfillment

We chase approval, like leaves in the breeze

Hoping to please, to put minds at ease

But in this chase, we lose our own song

Forgetting where our true selves belong

Why do we cling to this endless quest?

When genuine kindness is what serves us best

A warmth that flows from the heart, sincere

Not bound by the chains of others' cheer

Let go of the need to constantly appease

Embrace the freedom that comes with ease

For in kindness, there's a gentle power

That blooms within, like a radiant flower

Kindness is not a performance to play

It's a light that guides us, come what may

A gift we give, expecting no return

A flame that within us, will always burn

So step away from the pleasing parade

Let your true self be unafraid

In kindness, find your truest voice

In its warmth, let your heart rejoice

For life is too short to wear a disguise

To live for others, to compromise

Choose kindness, let it be your guide

And watch as your spirit soars and glides

In the garden of life, let kindness grow

A seed of warmth in every heart you sow

For in choosing kindness, you will find

A life of joy, both gentle and kind

So, let go of pleasing, it's time to release

Embrace the beauty of inner peace

In kindness, find your truest call

And let the weight of pleasing, finally fall
