Lay down the heavy ornaments of pretended gold
Let the quiet speak in a voice both young and old
Follow the heartbeat that knows the way
Through the soft-lit morning of a simpler day
For truth is a stream that needs no disguise
Only the open meadow beneath open skies

The blessings you seek are already near
Tucked in the laughter you chose to hear
In the way your feet have crossed the stone
Of roads you once thought you’d walk alone
Give yourself the grace to stand and see
How far you’ve come, how strong you can be

Your steps are your own, your compass awake
No borrowed maps for the path you take
Each choice a beam in the house you raise
Each moment a spark in the fire’s blaze
And the walls you build with your truest hands
Will hold the dreams that your heart commands

Release the shadows that cling to your name
For they are not you, and they are not the same
As the soul now rising in morning’s light
With eyes that no longer hide from sight
The past was a teacher, but not the king
It cannot rule what tomorrow will bring

Already the wind smells of something new
Faces and chances moving toward you
They will find the glow your spirit gives
And walk with you into the life that lives
Beyond the gate of the world you knew
Where happiness blooms in the work you do
