The days roll on in a steady stream
Filling the hours with the same old dream
Hands busy with tasks that keep me still
But my heart is chasing a distant thrill
A call I can’t quite reach
Waiting for blessings and promise to finally breach
I can almost taste the sunlit air
Almost touch the life that’s waiting there
I feel the stir beneath the calm
A spark that hums like a secret psalm
Yet here I stand in the in-between
Living a life I’ve already seen
Why does the waiting stretch so long?
When every cell knows where I belong
Why can’t the clouds just break apart
And let the new pour into my heart
I’m ready to run where the sky feels near
To step into all that’s been calling me clear
It’s a restless dance between now and next
A chapter written but not yet text
The tide is swelling, the wind will shift
The shore will rise to meet the drift
But for now I breathe, and hold this spark
Guided by light I feel in the dark
One day soon, the world will turn
The gates will open, the fire will burn
And I’ll leap into the wide unknown
No longer waiting, but finally home
For I know the moment will surely come
When the life I’ve dreamed will at last be begun
